My Top 3 Priorities

  • Will work to expand the VCRCD programs to include environmental and conservation education and outreach to ALL landowners within the District.
  • Will restore supervisorial appointments to the VCRCD Board of Directors to reverse the recent fiscally irresponsible decision to hold costly elections that drains our limited resources.
  • Urge the District to pursue more typical conservation programs that are being provided by many other California RCDs that have significant urban population interfaces.

Kevin Cannon is a sustainable avocado farmer, Santa Rosa Valley community leader, and MAC (Municipal Advisory Council) member for Santa Rosa Valley.  He is the current VCRCD Board Secretary/Treasurer having served 4+ years.  A 1976 graduate of the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information and Computer Science, Kevin previously worked for 30 years in the software industry.  He has been farming avocados in Ventura County for the last 20 years implementing conservation projects on his own ranch during that time.  Kevin has attended soil and water conservation seminars offered to avocado growers and has volunteered on hands-on Channel Islands Restoration projects to help restore natural habitat.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My philosophy can be summed up fairly consisely as this:  Do no harm to the Earth, and strive to help it as much as you can.  If elected I will work towards promoting VCRCD programs that include environmental and conservation education and outreach to ALL landowners within the District.
