Following a family tradition (his father was Citizen of the year in Santa Fe Springs) he was the founding President of the Morning Optimist Club of Moreno Valley and is still active today.  He worked with a local teacher to create a program to provide Varsity Jackets for financially challenged student athletes.  To date over 60 jackets have been given out.  He serves as a Boardmember for Altura Credit Union as well as the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  For his continued contributions to the community, he has been honored as Citizen of the year by the Moreno Valley Chamber of Commerce.  He has also be recognized for his community service by the Moreno Valley College, the Boy Scouts of America, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Unforgettables Foundation.

George and his wife of 43 years Vicki, have two children and four grandchildren.  In his spare time, George enjoys playing golf, snow skiing watching sports and listening to music.
