Biography

Mayor Britt Huff has served on the City Council of Rolling Hills Estates for 4 years.  Prior to being elected to the City Council, she served on the Planning Commission for five year; including as Chair.

In her professional life, Mayor Huff is Director of a non-profit education and counseling center for seniors and their families who are confronting aging issues.  She holds a Ph.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in public administration, and has years of government management experience, including Deputy Director, Regional Office, U.S. Dept. of Commerce; Regional Manager, U.S. Dept. of Energy; and Foreign Service Office, U.S. Dept. of State.  She has also taught on the adjunct faculties of several local univesities.

She is a founding Board member for the Palos Verdes Village project, which is part of a national Village Movement to help seniors stay in their own homes as they age.  The PV Village utilizes neighborhood volunteers to assist older adults with everyday needs, such as transportation to doctor's appointments, grocery shopping, in-home repairs, as well as providing social engagements and friendly calls and visits.

Mayor Huff has represented the city of Rolling Hills Estates on the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG) for the past four years, which is comprised of the 15 local surrounding cities, where she was elected 1st Vice Chair by the member cities.  Membership in this regional organization gives our small city a greater influence in regional decison-making on issues that impace our residents. Mayor Huff has been unanimously nominated to be the next president of the organization, serving as Chair of the Board.
