Protecting Our Water

Karen is a leader in Contra Costa County and in California in the fight to protect our main water supply – the Delta.  Karen is working toward a sensible solution that ensures a reliable water source that does not require underground tunnels that move our water south while protecting the Delta ecosystem.

Improving Public Safety

Improving public safety

Karen led the effort to bring fiscal stability to our fire protection services.  The new ambulance contract saved money and provides more ambulances on the road, allowing ambulances to get to emergency calls faster.

Supporting Quality Health Care

Expaning access to health care.

Karen supported increased funding of the Contra Costa CARES healthcare program for un-insured adults, expanding access to 1,400 patients for primary and preventative healthcare services.  The county also expanded Whole Person Care to Medi-Cal patients to improve patient health outcomes and move away from high-cost services.
