Biography

I am a California native and have lived most of my life in Jurupa Valley. Growing up in the Pedley area, I had the great experience of riding horses and raising livestock. I eventually made my way to the Rubidoux area where I now live with my wife, a teacher in the Jurupa Unified School District, and our two daughters.

I graduated from Jurupa Valley High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, San Bernardino, in Business Administration. I am currently the Business Analyst for the western region in a large supply chain management company.

I am active in the community as a volunteer board member of Jurupa AYSO Region 462. We provide a great soccer experience for a large part of our city's youth. I also have the privilege of coaching both of my daughters’ teams. I also serve in the Jurupa District Lions Club as the 2nd Vice President. We serve the community in many ways such as providing meals for city events at no cost and providing vision screenings for those in need among other services we provide.

I currently serve as an elected board member of the Rubidoux Community Services District. Serving the Rubidoux community on the RCSD board has given me insight into managing budgets and community needs. Understanding how to manage budgets and staff will serve me well if elected to city council.

If elected, I will work to increase transparency in our city. I am a proponent of progress but we need to make sure that progress is done in an environmentally responsible manner while also taking into consideration that we are a community of communities, each with its own identity. I want to increase accessibility between our residents and their city council by holding town hall meetings. I also want to focus on public safety by strengthening the relationship between our first responders and the residents they serve.

I want to explore having the city council and planning commission meetings video taped and the videos placed on line, just like our school district currently does. Right now, if you cannot attend a city council meeting, you have to contact the city clerk, ask for a CD of the sound recording of the meeting, and make a special trip to city hall to pick it up. Video taping meetings would make it so much easier for residents, staff, and our council members to review previous meetings and would increase transparency.

These are just a few of the topics I am passionate about and through this campaign I hope to learn what you are passionate about so we can work together to move our city forward.
