My Top 3 Priorities

  • I will Fight the Water Tax that would allow Sacramento to tap your monthly water bill without your permission, and without your approval on where the $$ is spent
  • I will cut costs & keep water rates low. I am committed to fiscal restraint, cost accountability and a more efficient, reliable water system.
  • I will work for the people. I am dedicated to open, transparent government that is courteous and responsive to the public it serves.

I would be honored to receive your vote to secure reliable and affordable water supplies for the customers of Western Municipal Water District where I live, work, pay my taxes, raised my family.

I love my community and have spent decades working in community service to make this a better place for our families. I've dedicated my career to solving difficult water challenges. Now, I'm running for the WMWD Board to continue advocating for an affordable and reliable water supply.

I have earned a reputation as a fierce and effective advocate for taxpayers and ratepayers in my service statewide in my appointment to serve as Chairman of Outreach for the Association of California Water Agencies. I understand how decisions elsewhere can impact the bottom line for families who are struggling to pay rising water rates at home.

I know my way around the garage and through the toolbox in a workshop, but I also know how to lead effectively in a Board Room. I have served as a Board member for CalDesal and on the legislative committees for Southern California Water Committee, Association of Ground Water Agencies, California Special Districts Association, and ACWA. I am able to draw upon this experience to create smart policy and efficient water systems benefiting WMWD ratepayers.

I am respected for my leadership in bringing adversaries together and my dedication to keeping water supplies clean, reliable and affordable for families, farms and ordinary folks.

I would be honored to have your vote to serve as your Director to the Western Municipal Water District.

I am committed to drought-proofing our community by investing in a more resilient water portfolio. This is the best way to keep our water supplies reliable and affordable in the long term.

Creating a robust water supply requires more than money. The complex issues of water supply, quality and pricing depend first and foremost upon leaders willing and able to build goodwill and cooperative partnerships. I am committed to bringing people together to achieve outcomes that no individual can achieve alone, and I have a strong track record to prove it.

This collaborative approach to solving extremely difficult challenges is put to the test nearly every day in my work as the General Manager for the Salton Sea Authroity, a joint powers authority empowered to restore the Salton Sea -- California's largest inland Sea and home to two thirds of the species of migratory waterfowl in North America.

In my daily work, I am committed to bringing people together because that is the only way to make positive progress in such a complex, divisive arena. Out of chaos and strife,  I have successfuly forged consensus for achievable plans and projects among partner agencies at the local, state and federal levels. I am pleased to say that we are achieving historic cooperation that has put this troubled Sea on a trajectory for recovery.

With your vote, I will provide that kind of healthy servant leadership for the benefit of each and every customer served by WMWD.
