I am currently a Fellow with the Center for Civic Policy & Leadership, and a Board of Director for Habitat for Humanity Riverside. Born again Spirit-filled Christian, Ordained Pastor, Bible teacher. I'm proud to have served on the 1st Jurupa Valley City Council. Having sat in that seat, I look forward to taking on that responsibility to further the quality of life for all who live here. I'm proud to have authored the cities first new resolution prohibiting the use, possession or sale of any synthetic drug ordinance. I'm anxious to get back to work on other issues that directly affect health and welfare of my fellow citizens.

Jurupa valley is very unique in-that we originally incorporated 9-unique communities. I think the most challenging aspect is melding these 9-communities as one in such a manner that they complement each other, and yet maintain their own identity. Integrity of the Council is of utmost importance, what with much of the populace suspicious of and/or distrusting “government”, it is vital to maintain honesty and transparency with the responsibility of taking this city into the future. Health and welfare, public safety, policies aimed at creating economic stability and maintaining a sustained balanced budget, are but some of the issues.

Filosofía política

My political position throughout my entire adult life has been Republican. However, of late (the last 10-15 yrs) I have been very dissatisfied with that party and definitely dissatisfied with the Democratic Party. I’m a strong Constitutionalist, believing that our founding fathers got it right the first time. I believe America is the greatest country in the world, ordained of God and that we should defend it to the best of our abilities. Unfortunately, greed, arrogance, pride and the desire for power has blinded the political eyes of our government. This 2016 election process has been, in my opinion, a complete embarrassment and disgrace to the people of the United States.

I believe in equal rights and justice to all who call themselves Americans. We cannot change the past, but we can control the present which will determine our future.

I can play my political part in local government to bring about a cohesive community where all citizens matter.

Health and Welfare of my community

I look forward to getting back to work on other issues that directly affect the health and welfare of my fellow citizens. Prop 64 of the up-coming election is of vital importance.

In serving in the position of City Council Member upon incorporation of California's newest city, Jurupa Valley, I have had to consider many suggestions from my constituency. Several community members consider public safety the most important issue, and there is validity in their concerns. Others consider no or little growth to this newly incorporated city, and conversely others want growth albeit limited.

In my experience as a supervising sergeant in the United States Army and my career as a police officer, I have seen firsthand the devastating effects of drugs on the human body and the human psyche. It is with perseverance and dedication that I desire to continue my fight against drug use and/or abuse for my community.

With the incredible honor of authoring the city's first new ordinance, synthetic drug ordinance, I have taken a decisive step in curbing the damaging effects of drugs in our community. There is much to be done with the 2016 election quickly approaching and proposition 64 (Marijuana Legalization) is set to be voted on to legalize recreational use of marijuana here in the state of California. However, there is a provision in the proposed law that allows local authority to prohibit marijuana businesses.

Proposed Law: Section.1, Sec. 2, E. reads; ".... The Adult use of Marijuana Act sets up a comprehensive system governing marijuana businesses at the state level and safeguards local control, allowing local governments to regulate marijuana-related activities, to subject marijuana businesses to zoning and permitting requirements, and to ban marijuana businesses by a vote of the people within a locality."

Proposition 64 will probably pass into law because of the extreme liberality of the majority of California voters, but the above portion of the proposed law does allow for local government restriction and enforcement of businesses from opening distribution points within their jurisdictions through zoning and permitting. With my experience sitting on the City Council of Jurupa Valley, and the hundreds of complaints from constituents that I have talked with over my council position (07/2011 - 12/2014), and who are opposed to any form of legalization of marijuana businesses and/or outlets, I consider this to be one of my highest priorities in keeping and maintaining the health and welfare of the citizens of Jurupa Valley.
