Biografía

I'm Nick Nicita, I was born and raised in Bakersfield. After graduating from Ridgeview High School with guaranteed admission into the UC system, I decided to stay in Bakersfield and attend CSU Bakersfield. In 2006 I moved to Los Angeles and attended to the Los Angeles Record School where I learned how to do professiona music production. For over a decade, I worked as a professional Audio Engineer and producer, working with many memebers from Merele Haggard's band, The Strangers, as well as Grammy Nominated arists from the band Lakeside.

Like many Millennials, during my 20s I struggled. I was lost and looking for purpose in my life. Slowly I began to turn my life around, re-enrolling at CSU Bakersfield and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a pre-law special minor. While studying at CSU Bakersfield, and briefly after graduating I worked with special needs kids, including working as a behavioral therapist, doing one one one ABA therapy sessions with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum. Working with special needs children helped me discover my purpose in life: to serve. I also serve as a member of the Kern County Democratic Central Committee, where I co-chair the Committee's subcommittee on Immigration. I am a delegate for the California Democratic Party, where I represents Kern's interests at the State Conventions. Further, I am a member of Kern Welcoming and Extending Immigrants (KWESI) a group that focuses on end isolation in detention for asylum seekers and those facing deportation hearings. I'm also a member of Aegis Treatment Centers Patient Advocacy and Advisory Group (PAAG) where I serve as a liaison between patient and staff. I was asked by Aegis Treatment Centers to represent their 21st Clinic at their annual Regional PAAG meeting for 2017. Lastly, I briefly served as the Worship Chair for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kern County during the church's transition from one location to their new location within the chapel at First Congregation Church. After all of these experiences, I feel more strongly than ever that I have a great number of talents to offer in service of the county that I love.

This is why I am I'm running for Assembly District 34. I think Kern County needs a change! For far too long Kern's politicians have been beholden to special interest donors. It's time Kern is represented by someone who first and foremost has Kern County's resident's interests at heart.

Kern deserves a representative that will fight for economic diversification, better education, humane treatment of undocumented people, and a healthcare system that doesn't disadvantage the poor by excluding them or offering sub-par health care services. If you believe Kern County should be sending representatives to Sacramento that care about ALL of Kern's residents and not just a select few who can write big checks, then please help support my campaign!

Filosofía política

Nick Nicita's political philosophy is based upon the principle that every person has inherent diginity and worth. As such, society has a moral obligation to make a good faith attempt to meet the basic needs of all it's individuals. This can be accomplished through many different avenues including, but not limited to, public policy initiatives, private-public partnerships, community involvment through and partnerships between Federal, State, and Local governemtsn and non-profit organizations.

Mr. Nicita's political philosophy is also based on the principle (and histroical truth) that a strong middle class follows from strong labor unions. The ability to collectively bargain is the cornerstone for reducing wealth inequality and guaranteeing that every person living in California, and the United States, has the ability to find not just a job, but a career that will provide upward social mobility.
