Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Woven through my life has been my interest and dedication to the Democratic Party based on the accomplishments and it's values. My passion with politics stem from my love of history along with my activisim in civil rights, women's equality (ERA) and other important movements that have both shaped me and our Party.

I grew up in a town that was run by the Republican Party for almost 40 years straight. At the age of 10, I worked on my father's campaign where he and others won all the elected seats turning the town from Republican to Democratic overnight. With this victory, the ideas and policies became more diverse and the outcomes more progressive. The change was impactful and created for me an understanding in how and what group of individuals working together can accomplish.

This sense of committment to change lives for the better has stayed with me all these years. I have believed that the Democratic Party is the right vehicle to impact policy and advocate for social and economic equality. i believe that government regulation can be a positive in bringing change in people's lives and well-being. The Democratic Party is one of inclusion and diversity. We strive to elect leaders who fight for equality and opportunity for all.

I have spent over 20 years in working to get candidates elected who will shape policy that will be impactful for our communities within Alameda County. The satisfaction of producing change for the better and to help advance policies improving people's lives is what I seek for all my effort. My candidacy is a wish to continue working to create the change necessary to move our country forward --- and away from the policies of hate and fear championed by our current President.

I support the basic tenets of our Party such as: civil and voting rights, access to high-quality education for all, combat climate change, fight to secure universal health care for all, embrace immigration and work for comprehensive reform, and strive for full employment with living wages, particularly good union jobs. I hope that you will re-elect me so I can continue our work on behalf of the Democratic Party and our community.
