Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (4)

What do you think the State should do to encourage affordable housing for all Californians?
Answer from Lupe Espinoza:

We need to decrease regulations and red tape around housing costs. Give tax incentives for housing costs and development. Business friendly environments and better paying jobs help people better their economic situation.

According to a "Civility In America” survey, 75% of Americans believe that the U.S. has a major civility problem. If you are elected what will do to address this?
Answer from Lupe Espinoza:

Our system works best because we can have robust conversations to agree or disagree. Encourage an environment where ideas are listened to and considered rather than attacked to revive civility.

Climate changes, and the shifting between very wet weather and drought, worry Californians. What strategies would allow that your district to both satisfy its water needs and protect the environment? Please be specific.
Answer from Lupe Espinoza:

We know California has water and that we have the ability to store much of it properly. If we don't take steps to better store our water, this problem will never end.

What programs or strategies would you suggest to meet the educational needs of the youngest and most poverty stricken Californians?
Answer from Lupe Espinoza:

In the age of the internet, information is available moreso than ever before in human history. Parents can utilize free and inexpensive online tools so their children can learn best at home early on. Children also learn much better at school when they have a safe and stable home environment.
