My Top 3 Priorities

  • To keep our District strong financially.
  • I want to bring more Arts (dance, drama and music) to our curriculum.
  • Raise our expectations so our kids strive to take advantage of the education they are offered.

Profession:Retired from Entertainment Industry. Educator at Borrego Springs Elementary 20 years.
Member, Borrego Springs Unified School District Board of Trustees — Appointed position (2013–2016)

I worked in the Entertainment Industry, starting an age ten as an actress.   I spent 40 years both on stage and off.  I was the Director of Administration at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, as well as the Assistant to the General Manager at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.  I went from there to Disneyland, where I was a Line Producer in the Entertainment/Marketing Division.  I retired and moved to Borrego where I went to work for the School District as an Aide at the Elementary School and spent 20 years there working to teach reading and then taught PE as well.  During that time, I also worked at La Casa Del Zorro in the gift shop.  I am the proud Mom of a Border Collie named Nikki, a Ragdoll cat named RumTumTugger and a Quarter Horse, Red Baron Lady Bar, whom I call BonBon.

I was appointed to the Board of Trustees at a time when the District was on the verge of bankruptcy, and along with this wonderful group of people have brought us back to fiscal responsibility.  I look forward to maintaining the consistency we have now, and continuing the work we have started.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My political philosophy is pretty simple.  Do the right thing.  I do not believe in "party affiliations".  I choose to do what I believe in my heart is right.  I try to look at both sides of issues and make my own decisions based on what I perceive to be facts.  I accept people on the basis of how we interact together, not on philosophy, beliefs, color, race or any other so-called ethnicities.  Think of all the great food we would miss out on!  I have always been a bit different, but I like to call it character.
