My Top 3 Priorities

  • Continue to increase student achievement at all levels
  • Continue to ensure long-term fiscal integrity of school district resources
  • Continue to focus on college and career readiness of our graduating students

My name is Mike Adams, and I’m running for the Valley Center School Board. My wife, Eileen, and I have deep roots in Valley Center. We raised our children here. We believe in public education. And now we want to give back to the community.

The good news is that, according to the data, Valley Center Schools are performing at a high level; our kids are being well served in this community. Our challenge, therefore, is twofold: 1) to support the practices that are working well, and 2) to continue to innovate and improve.

Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District is a large and complex organization. It has over 500 employees and an ANNUAL budget of more than $44 MILLION. Fortunately, I have experience running large and complex organizations and I’ve been responsible for managing large budgets. My academic credentials include multiple college degrees, including a graduate degree in public administration. In my career, I’ve served as a military officer, civil engineer, Director of Public Works, and Assistant City Manager in Escondido.

In order to be most effective, school boards need to have representatives from a wide range of backgrounds, organizations, and industries. My diverse educational and work experience will allow me to provide VC-PUSD, along with my fellow board members, independent and objective oversight.

For these reasons, I’m asking for your vote on November 8. You can get more information about me and my campaign at:

Political Philosophy

I beileve an effective school board member is a person who is knowledgeable, a hard worker, a consensus builder, and a leader.

Remember, five people make up our school board, and a majority is needed to approve any school board decisions!

I beleive I have the knowledge and qualities to be a leader with the Valley Center-Pauma Unified School District.
