Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Put students first by protecting class sizes, providing teachers with sufficient resources, disaggregating data to define areas for improvement, & implementing a social & emotional learning (SEL) curriculum to support the needs of the whole-child.
  • Bridge gaps within our community to find a unified voice that allows for safe, well-maintained, and easily accessible schools. Measure MM creates essential funding to upgrade our aging schools and construct a 9th school in Pacific Highlands Ranch.
  • Continue to sustain a balanced budget with prudent reserves that accounts for future pension needs and district population fluctuations, while seeking to enhance and expand our educational offerings to align with 21st century standards and policy.

I graduated from Del Mar Heights Elementary School in 1990 and grew up in Del Mar. Now, I am a mother of three future DMUSD students. I have dedicated over ten years to public service in the field of education. My undergraduate studies at UCSD allowed me to live abroad in Mexico City where I became fluent in Spanish. After graduation, I continued my international studies in Mexico through SDSU's School of Teacher Education where I received a Bilingual Multiple Subjects Credential. I have taught throughout San Diego County and in Mexico. I have a Spanish Teaching Credential and also hold a Pupil Personnel Services Credential. I received my Masters in School Counseling from National University. My husband, James, is a math teacher at Hoover High School where we met. My vast experience in education lends itself to a deeper understanding of the needs of students, parents, teachers, staff, and administration.

I am passionate about education and want to help guide the decision-making process that will best support our students now and in the future. Our community-funded district deserves representation from trusted leaders who have first-hand experience within schools. As your board trustee, I pledge to value every taxpayer dollar and put it to its most effective use. I believe in active community outreach and engagement and an open-door policy, just like I do in my classroom.

Your support for my election will help make Del Mar Union School District and our community even stronger!

Thank you!
