A lifetime of service, from young Eagle Scout to veteran Navy Captain of 28 years, has prepared Marvin to serve you as Councilman. This is proven character and expertise you can trust to make the most informed decisions for Coronado.

Having served you as a volunteer in Coronado, I now ask for your vote for City Council.

I currently serve on the Coronado Planning Commission and a number of our community non-profit Boards.  My government experience includes our Coronado Street Tree Committee, the Coronado CERT Board, and the Board of Directors for the Coronado Cays HOA.

I am dedicated to protecting our community and improving our quality of life.  My 28-year military career as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer, subsequent work in homeland defense and involvement with our city government afford me the skills and problem-solving abilities needed on the Coronado City Council.

An experienced leader, I will focus on maintaining community safety and security (police, fire, and emergency planning).  My degrees in Architecture and Mechanical Engineering prepare me to effectively contribute to quality of life issues such as construction and zoning standards, traffic safety (pedestrian, bicyclists and motorists), and infrastructure revitalization. Raised by depression era parents, I have conservative financial attitudes and will protect our city resources.

Making my home in Coronado almost 30 years ago, I have the experience, education and enthusiasm needed to represent you on the City Council.  Thank you for your vote.

Do you support increasing the housing density in the City? What other options might there be for improving the City's supply of affordable housing?
Respuesta de Marvin Heinze:

Housing Density should not be increasd in Coronado.  The community does not have appropriate places to add housing.

Do you approve of the City's current approach to addressing the problems of homelessness? What specific changes, if any, would you make?
Respuesta de Marvin Heinze:

Homelessness is not a problem in Coronado

Do you support any specific projects to promote economic activity in the City? Why or why not?
Respuesta de Marvin Heinze:

Economic Activity is important within Coronado.  Keeping a vibrant downtown, year round, is part of keeping Coronado Special.

Do you believe that the Coronado Police Department needs an independent, civilian review board or commission (to investigate any allegations of officer misconduct)? Why or why not?
Respuesta de Marvin Heinze:

Council and staff supervision of the Police Department has proven to be satisfactory.  There has not been any need shown for an independent review board.
